(those who had family who were killed by the drones where cheering at this Saudi's execution. This means drones aren't a great way to moblize public support on the war on terror)

"For the second, the 28-year old Yemeni, Saleh Ahmed Saleh Al Jamily, was executed and crucified close to Khanfar Stadium, Jaar, the southern province of Abyan."And for the second executed in Jaar, Al Jamily, he said in the confessions that the Yemeni intelligence officer Mueed Nasser Abdullah recruited him to collect information about nine Al Qaeda operatives including three prominent leaders who were killed by US drones in Zinjubar Abyan and Mareb. He gave the information that led to the killing of Ali Bin Saeed Bin Jamil, and Abu Osama Ali Mubarak Feras in Zinjubar late last year.

Bomber targets Yemen election committee office and kills only himself

Source: Reuters, 14/02/2012

ADEN-A suicide bomber blew himself up in front of a Yemeni election committee office in the southern port city of Aden early on Tuesday, a security official said, one week before an election to replace outgoing President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The official said the unidentified bomber was wearing an explosive belt that detonated before he reached the election committee building in the Crater district of Aden, killing him instantly but injuring no one.

The attack was the latest sign of opposition to the February 21 vote, rejected by southern separatists, northern Shi'ite rebels and Islamist militants emboldened by political upheaval that has weakened central government control over swathes of Yemen.

The Speech which came to late to Apologize

President Ali Abdullah Saleh do not needs all this time and all this blood shed in the streets and the cities of Yemen, all, if he had listened to the voice of reason and did what he said yesterday in a effective fare well speech  , the speech was to the leaders of his party including his deputy Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi, when he asked for forgiveness from the people of Yemen for what mistakes was committed during his reign spanning 33 years.

Saleh said in his speech yesterday, before leaving the capital Sana'a for treatment abroad, and after a day of been granted  law of judicial immunity: "I ask pardons from each my own people, men and women for any failure occurred during my term of the 33 year, I ask forgiveness and offer apologies for all Yemenis and Yemeni citizens, and we now have to take care of our wounded and martyrs  "

Saleh Could have, and he is a  person who does not have lack of intelligence, to say what he said yesterday, long time ago, and immune  his people from destruction , rather than searching for the law gives him judicial immunity, and was able to work on reconciliation with all Yemenis , after feeling that the winds of change has blew, and avoids the country disasters and calamities.

Saleh wanted to avoid the position of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, when he sensed that the earth moving under his feet, and said his famous words "I have understood you."
Saleh . Begrudged on his people say that to them after 33 years of Ruling  "I have I have understood you " and it is time to apologize for all the mistakes committed in my era which is not few," if he said it would have been reason strengthening the internal front and make all the Yemenis who been divided by  political disputes stick together , particularly after the numerous "no's" from Saleh , And his insistence to face the "challenging the challenge," which was like a recommendation to violence and murder.

Will Not have been wrong for the President say to his people that his time is over, on the contrary, the move would lift his name in the hearts of many people, And history will record it in golden letters that he has prevented youth blood to be shed  in the squares ,who  went out looking  for change , He himself had recognized it, but years of wrangling was enough to Exhaust the country  and its people.

Saleh called  in his speech yesterday, all political parties to "get around each other, reconciliation and frankness, and restore and repair what was destroyed during the eleven months of last year," It is phrase sentence  enough to figure out to where Saleh led his people during the past year, a heavy legacy prompted Prime Minister Mohamed Salem Basendwah day before yesterday, to cry He wants MPs to pass the immunity  law immunity for Saleh  to avoid the risk of tearing the country into chaos situation

True the law has given Saleh immunity from prosecution, But hopes to be the immunity for the entire people from risks of chaos and destruction and civil war .

And When a comparison between "person" and "the people", the interests of the people strongest and most important, with appreciation for victims who have fell during the year of violence and destruction.

Most importantly, Saleh applies the content of his speech, and that turns into a stabilizing factor for Yemen, the country is desperate need of stability to rebuild what was destroyed during the past year, the government should begin now to achieve a comprehensive reconciliation does not exclude anyone.

HOOD concerns the transfer of 17 detainees to Military Prison

HOOD concerns the transfer of 17 detainees to Military Prison

HOOD expressed its deep concern on the lives of 17 detainees who were transferred late Tuesday from the 17 security administration detention facility to the Criminal Investigation Department on the grounds of their release, according to the testimony of their parents.
HOOD wondered about the transfer of detainees from the CID to the mi...litary prison despite the directives of the Attorney General to immediately release them for more than two weeks.
HOOD expressed its deep concerns on the lives of detainees, particularly after receiving confirmed information of the transfer, accompanied by armed civilians who are called "People's Committees for the protection of the constitutional legitimacy," and visitations are denied.
The organization considered this transference of prisoners to the military prison contrary to the provisions of Article (48), paragraph (b) of the Yemeni Constitution, which prohibited the imprisonment of any citizen at any places other than those stated under the Prisons Act.
Moreover, relatives of detainees were subject to blackmailing by officials of the security administration of the 70 area of Sana'a, who asked them to pay 100 thousand Yemeni riyals for each detainee in return for their release, as HOOD quoted from the relatives. Some parents said that they had paid a part of the amount to rescue their sons, who were at risk of torture and death.
The security forces have arrested hundreds of young people since Sept.18 in which the fate of the majority of them is still unknown.
In spite of the release orders of the Attorney General, prosecutors who visited the prison, the district security administration refused to obey these judicial orders.
Therefore, HOOD calls on the UN Office represented by the OHCHR and its international human rights organizations and agencies, media outlets and all freedom callers of the world to move quickly and urgently to save the lives of hundreds of detainees who the whereabouts of some of them is still unknown.
